That describes every single occupation known to man. Apologism at it's finest.

I guess it's just easier for you to ignore Edwards' unethical transgressions, eh?Originally posted by: techs
Hey, I just found out President Bush is loaded. He got his money from his grandfather who worked with the Nazis. And President Bushes family got their money from the Carlyle Group which is jointly owned by the Saudi Royal family. And President Bush lost a ton of money until he got the public to build him a stadium.
Dictators, Tyrants, Murderers and political connections for Bush.
Hard work for Edwards.
Game, set and match to John Edwards.
I know of many criminals and other ethically-challenged people who have also had successful careers. Being successful does not excuse their behavior or permit us to ignore their transgressions.Originally posted by: Ferocious
Had a successful career.
Unlike W's multiple failures.

Edwards is an ambulance-chasing hypocrite of the first order.
Unless you consider his frivolous lawsuits themselves to be unethical... as I do.Originally posted by: techs

I just read every post in this thread. Nowhere does it say or even hint Edwards did anything unethical. Stop trolling.
Malpractice suits are virtually the ONLY check on doctors competence. State licensing boards are completely inadequate and almost all bad doctors are forced out of being doctors by multiple malpractice judgements.Originally posted by: palehorse74

And then there's the blatant hypocrisy of his promoting nationalized health care after a career spent driving up health costs. There's always that...
This is not trolling. This is my honest response to Edwards as a Presidential candidate.
Is everyone who questions or challenges your stance on an issue a troll? just curious...
As someone else stated above, I'm all for Doctors being watched closely and also being held accountable when they truly commit malpractice. However, if you've read anything at all about Edwards' cases, you'll see that they involved a genetic disorder that was completely out of the doctors' hands.Originally posted by: techs

It is not a good system but until real oversight of doctors is enacted the malpractice suit has proven the ONLY way to get them to change or to quit.
Edwards got his reputation as an advocate for those who couldn't afford to pursue their legitimate legal claims against big business and other well heeled interests:Originally posted by: palehorse74

Which of these cases do you consider "frivolous?" If you don't think these are "frivolous," please provide links to others you think are.Edwards' first important case was a 1984 medical malpractice lawsuit. In that case, Edwards won a $3.7 million verdict on behalf of his client who suffered permanent brain and nerve damage after a doctor prescribed a drug overdose of anti-alcoholism drug Antabuse. In 1985, Edwards obtained a $5.75 million settlement in a cerebral palsy case for medical malpractice during childbirth, representing Jennifer Campbell, a five-year-old cerebral palsy patient. This established the North Carolina precedent of physician and hospital liability for failing to determine if the patient understood risks of a particular procedure.

The biggest case of his legal career was a 1997 product liability lawsuit against Sta-Rite, the manufacturer of a defective pool drain cover. The case involved a Cary, North Carolina girl, Valerie Lakey, who was disemboweled by the suction power of the pool drain pump when she sat on an open pool drain whose protective cover other children at the pool had removed, after the swim club had failed to install the cover properly. Despite 12 prior suits with similar claims, Sta-Rite continued to make and sell drain covers lacking warnings.
