Apart from age and being a natural-born citizen, there are no qualifications for Congress IIRC. Anarchist420, Spidey and Sensenamp could all run if they wanted.

Marcy Kaptur and Dennis Kucinich are going to face each other in a primary? Wow.
Looks like Kucinich is gone.

If Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul are no longer going to be in the US House after 2012, everything will turn into a rubber stamp there(not that it isn't already is)

He's a unabashed liar. That's a big step in the right direction.

Gotta agree with Irish Scott here, at least ole Joe does not have such a huge head, that just conversation with Obama does not qualify him to run for Potus yet.

But still its been a riot watching ole Joe give up his ambition to buy a plumbing business as he has run through a series of abortive ambitions like singing Joe and all his other flip flops.

Good comic relief if nothing else.

Good luck with that.

To be on the ballot takes some life out of you. You get bashed, discouraged, and threats of assassinations are not great either.

He was asked to run because he is somewhat popular and there is name recognition. He was not chosen because of his intelligence, political prowess, ability to legislate laws, etc.

This guy is about as qualified to run as Alvin Greene.. the SC democratic senatorial candidate.

I believe those are the requirements to be president, anyone who is a citizen can run for congress.

Requirements for membership in the House of Representatives are provided in Article I, Section 2 of the US Constitution:

"No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five years, and been seven years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen."

These requirements cannot be changed without a constitutional amendment.

he has infinitely more real life experience then your obama. What ever room your obama enters he's the least experienced man in the room.

wtf. i thought this guy was done. a has been. now he's back in the news. running for Congress.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44849811/ns/politics-decision_2012/

the qualifications for Congress must be really low. i may run for it too.

This nation proved, in 2008, that there are no experience requirements for the office of President. There are no requirements for Congress. In spite of what has been said, one does not have to even be a natural born American, just be a US citizen for a minimum of 7 years.

Right? You can even be a turtle that, through freak accidental contact with an undisclosed "ooze," gains human level intellect, size, and dexterity, and goes on to master a number of martial arts, including ninjutsu.

experience has never been a requirement, only the ability to get elected.
