We can look at the question from many viewpoints.

But before Obama discovered him, Joe was only a semi employed plumber who owed a pile of back taxes. And while I agree with Robor, "he's a fake ignorant windbag attention whore." , Joe is still making out like a bandit and laughing his way to the bank.

The real question is why the GOP wants anything to do with Joe the Plumber?

On one hand Joe energizes the maybe 25% of the GOP lunatic fringe of the GOP trying to bring back GWB, but Joe is such an intellectual lightweight, all he can do is regurgitate talking points, rather than offer any real ideas regarding rebuilding the GOP back into being a competitive national party. In any real debate, he would be ripped to shreds.
