I'd argue that alcohol is more dangerous to society than tobacco for precisely the reason bolded above, and yet, we don't see its advertising prohibited like we do with tobacco.

did everyone already forget about this study?

article said:
The new, more complex, system ranked alcohol as three times more harmful than cocaine or tobacco. Ecstasy was ranked as causing one-eighth the harm of alcohol.

I'm pretty sure most of us knew this anyways, but alcohol is ingrained in us as humans. It was one of the first things we grew crops for thousands of years ago. To think any of these drugs will go away is retarded. Drug education imo has done more to control it than anything else.

Interesting, just as I suspected but didn't have a link to back it up. Thanks!

One just has to look back through history to see alcohols effect on our species lol. Some of the first crops were grown specifically to make alcohol with. It's a big part of what we are and have become. That's why people hold it in a separate category even though it really isn't much different than anything else.

If I'm not mistaken, beer was originally served like a soup with the consistency of oatmeal in ancient times. I've been checking my supermarket shelves, but as of today, Quaker Oats has not yet come out with a similar product. :awe:

Joe Camel did inspire me to order a free Joe Camel tee shirt when offered, even though I didn't smoke. Just to piss off the smoking Nazis. (Who are not the real Nazis, so no calling Godwin's Law on me.)

getting extra breaks at work

This is the one that drives me crazy. Almost everywhere I worked, 15 min break every 90 min for smokers. 2 15min for non.

NOW though, some places won't hire you if you smoke, and they test.
