Julian Castro isn’t the nominee. Identity politics is primarily a conservative thing as it has been for a long time now.

LOL WUT.

Okay bud. Why don't you have some more 2-liner statements in Spanish during debates and tell me that you guys aren't all aboard the identity politics train.

Every single one of you should be giving idiots like Beto the same look that Booker is giving right here anytime they make stupid identity politics moves of this magnitude. Except, you know - without doing it yourself and joining the peanut gallery right after.

I mean just on the face of it, how many "groups" can you associate with any given political party? I can think of 10 under democrats and maybe... evangelicals on the republican side? That's about it.

Don't forget all the very fine people who love Trump.

Where did you get the idea that Castro blamed race? A quote would be nice.

Oh, wait, I forgot. You're on a mission to tear down the Democrats, right? Any of them will do.

And the whole bit about the New Deal is exquisite doublespeak. When rust belt voters swooned for Reagan they also embraced the libertopian jerb creator ideology of trickle down economics. Let free market Capitalism provide! Let the greediest people in the world have their way with us!

Which is exactly what happened to them. But it's the Democrats' fault, obviously, because freedumb counts, ya know?
He’s been blaming the order of the Democrat primary states since at least November, with race being central to that criticism.

If you don’t like identity politics you must have absolutely loathed conservatism for the last half century or so.

Just look at how they campaign. Democrats campaign on ‘I want universal health care’ or things like that. Specific policies they would like to enact. Republicans run on ‘I am a true conservative’, almost never do they actually talk about policies they want to enact. Trump basically made no policy statements at all other than how he was going to punish Mexicans and Muslims. That’s identity politics.

The fact that you didn’t mention ‘white people’ in your list of identity groups shows how blind you are to how conservatism is entirely that.

So no, you can't back up your statement. But you can pretend.
So you want to pretend that Castro did not criticize the sequence of the primary states, with race being the only factor? You want to pretend that in his concession statement “I’ve determined that it simply isn’t our time” and citing “circumstances of the campaign season” that he is not attributing the failure of his campaign to race? Please. Those are direct quotes by the way. I assume you know how to Google.

Yeah he did. And there's more. He made similar comments in relation to Kamala Harris dropping out in November.

Why when people point out a lack of diversity people like you label it racist?

A bit of a side-line, but SOON we will begin to hear the sound of campaigns crashing.
BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...
I say this because one huge crash that is about to come is that of Elizabeth Warren.
Elizabeth Warren is going to come crashing down soon after iOwa, very soon.
If Warren would pull her head out of her behind, Warren would realize this.
The people do not want Elizabeth Warren.
This will end up with Biden, Sanders, and Pete. And only Sanders because Sanders has the support of the people, well... a lot of the people.
That old Sanders base from 2016 has returned and they are alive and well and full of excitement AND full of money.
In the end it is the money that matters.

Only one person gets the nomination. If you condition the electorate to expect that a candidate looks like them, you are inevitably going to disappoint a lot of people. Diversity is bigger and broader than race.

Is that supposed to mean something?

There's a teaser click bait headline out there saying someone 'fired her entire campaign staff' without mentioning who 'her' is or what office or even country. I refuse to click on those types of headlines. I don't believe it's this one yet. Her time was '16 though and she fluffed leaving us with King Orange Rind.

It's hilarious, the party that constantly rails against the "coastal elites" and "the others (mostly brown people)" doesn't play identify politics? He's a fantastic example of the just how blinded by bias people are.

I like how the OP implies that miners are too stupid to learn coding.

the message biden was trying to convey was that it's no use propping up a dying industry, and that it's best to re-train them in a trade/skill that wont be going away anytime soon.

The OP like the rest of Republicans want to keep their people fat, dumb and ignorant. They only way to keep their votes.

I guess you didn't notice the disappearance of women on the stage as well. In case you didn't consider it they count in the tapestry of a diverse populous.
Well I know you guys are trying to shove Gabbard off the stage, but last I checked, Warren and Klobuchar are still standing. Warren is waning a bit, but Klobuchar could surge if she has another strong debate performance.

As for diversity, even with Castro gone, you still have viable women candidates, a viable gay male and veteran, a Jewish democratic socialist and a Boomer.

AK to date has failed to make the cut for the next debate

If only we had a way for them to work virtually
That's not going to work with these people. They'll need a lot of hand holding just so they can pretend to program. Their situation is pretty hopeless, I think Rudy Giuliani had a better solution for them than Joe Biden.

New hires need a lot of hand holding as well, even brilliant ones. Where there is a will there is a way. I personally don’t think its reasonable to necessarily convert every coal miner into a coder, at least not for complex work, but not all coding is complex.
