Nobody expected much from Trump. I guess the hope was someone who was genuinely capable would move the meter on people's feelings. HE has struggled and it's showing. It might not be entirely his fault but that's where the buck stops. I can see people being harder on him due to higher hopes.

We had that guy called Obama yet Trumpers would take Donnie over him if given a chance

The press is an entertainment industry, If the center right could come up with some good entertainment, they would cover it. They cover the crazies because they are entertaining. Doing the right thing and building brick by brick is not what will get covered, blowing up everything makes a lot of money for Newscorp.

All the headlines talk about the disastrous Joe Biden's poll numbers. Just compare them to the last administration where is was barely mentioned. Look for yourself and maybe you can answer the question. Using a poll of polls

How Popular Is Joe Biden? | FiveThirtyEight
How Popular Is Donald Trump? | FiveThirtyEight

Would be interesting to quantify those 'headlines' in some way, to present them in an equivalent fashion to the poll data. If there were an objective way to rate them on how negative/positive they were about the poll numbers, plus weight them by the influence of the source.

Surely part of it has to be that the headlines factor-in an implicit acknowledgement of the skewed-nature of the electoral system? Biden _needs_ popularity to have a hope of getting another term, in a way that Republican Presidents do not.

Bidens got abysmal approval ratings! His absolutely lowest point was a full percentage point above trumps best rating!

An amount of Biden's disapproval is coming from progressives I'm sure, but that disapproval is more like a Manchin/Sinema disapproval. Biden wants big things passed, but they are preventing it.

Check out this floor speech by Sen Raphael Warnock. Lays out justification for getting voting rights past filibuster. Biden just yesterday elevated it above BBB

Joe Biden poll numbers. Why is the grading scale different then Trump?

Look at the direction it has moved. Perhaps the concern is regarding momentum and trend setting, and WHY those numbers moved.

What did Joe Biden fail at, in order to receive such a negative swing in numbers?
Could Democrats lose votes, elections, and seats due to this momentum?
Does this trend END the Democrat agenda in Congress, as Critters flee for safety to weather the "storm"?

Perhaps it makes headlines because the President has a D after his name, so more was expected. There was more to lose, and now it is lost?

I still maintain the difference is that there's an awareness that Biden's popularity matters, in determining his electoral chances. Everyone knows that doesn't work the same way for a Republican president. They are graded on a curve, because Republicans don't need popularity to win.

Donalds followers were blind zealots. He never needed "ratings".

Joe is trying his best under horrific conditions. He got us out of Afghanistan which the 3 previous jokers couldnt do.
I dont care what Joes numbers are.

Lying about everything gets Republicans elected. Look at Trumpy! No experience. But his big mouth and lies mostly got him elected and smearing his Presidential rivals.
