I was wondering if there are any more nerd/jock hybrids on AT like me :)
Played football, basketball, and soccer all through highschool and played first string on all of em. Senior year of football played starting tight end and starting d-line (DEFENSE BITCH! bout 55 tackles and 7 touchdowns) scored hell of a lot in b-ball lol and scored couple goals in soccer. through it all i stayed dedicated to gaming as much as i could (SWG mainly, eewwww) and there were a couple guys on the team that did this same thing. Just wonderin if there is anyone else out there thats breakin the social norms ;) dated the head cheerleader 2 hehe.

lemme know

*EDIT* i did NOT pick on anyone in high school. just not something i found amusing. Of course i didnt get picked on myself (6'0 210lbs, and jujitsu :) and i made it a point to not allow any physical harm to come to those with just the nerd part hehe. Now of course i did do the OLD tradition of making the younger players do all the S**T work on the football team when i was a senior, but that was expected and everyone has to do it. Course my grade didnt ever do it cuz we were always bigger and stronger than the older guys lol. I was also REALLY into the hardware side of comps, as i am even more so now(sophomore in EE). Love to push hardware to the max (like my Radeon 7200 LE 32mb runnin at 550/175 lol)

EDIT2 BTW to define the nerdom side of things, i havnt had a prebuilt PC since i was 5. was fluent in DOS at 6. built my first comp at 7 and never looked back. comp in my sig was built by me and every comp i ever own will be or i dont see the point in having it. make some money on the side while in college building comps and fixin em for people, get free shipping from newegg cuz of the amount of parts i buy from them lol

SWG is not a nerd activity.

Come back when you have at least done pencil and paper gaming for a few years.

11 years of Baseball, softball, football, a year of soccer, and a whole life of wrestling the chip bag on the couch.

Hell yeah I'm a jock/nerd hybrid.

What is SWG?
I'm athletic, but I mostly stuck to geeky sports - swimming, climbing, kayaking, frisbee, curling...

Most Call of Cthulhu games last about 4 sessions or less depending on how sadistic you GM is.

I'm talking about campaigns spanning a year of more.

i was in a group that would meet weekly and we played for about a year. finally we broke up because of us getting married, kids or jobs moving out of state.

man i want to get a group going again. I miss playing AD&D and drinking beer. sigh heh

Yep. I'm a volleyball player and I'm also a computer nerd. I like "tech savvy" though. :)

My last group had been playing for years before I joined up and I played for about four years. We generally played D6 Star Wars with the occasional foray into DD, Call, and Aliens.

Just beore I moved to here the group broke up and I miss it as well.

i think there are a lot of these people out there. More so then the media would like you to believe, because then it won't be entertaining.

I cant stand organized sports, like for school. Thats why im not a jock, besides the 5'8' 145lbs thing. Street sports are more of my thing: basketball, football, baseball and everything else there is time for. If that counts of course :).

I got picked on until I beat Brandon Lewis's ass in the hallway in front of the principal and half the staff my junior year. I grew up with him and others pushing me around and one day I decided that I wasn't going to put up with it anymore. He pushed too much so I beat the fvck out of him leaving chapel one Wednesday. One of the benefits of going to a private school is that the staff actually cares about you so when you snap and go ape ****** on one of the people who's pushed you around for so long, they don't blame you and they leave you the hell alone.

Not really a jock, but I play sports for fun casually sometimes... and do exercise as much as I can. And I do a lot of music stuff, but I guess that falls more under the nerd category.
