Consultant. I interviewed a guy who claimed on his resume that he was a consultant for a couple of years, so I asked what jobs he did during that time. He replied that he did work helping people install routers for their DSL connections and other random stuff like that. "Yeah, those were lean years," he said.

You could then also add:

Mayor of New Orleans
Governor of Louisiana
Director of Lousians EMA (yes, they have one)

lame++;

Just about as lame as calling acting a non-working job. Or being an artist.

No, what I meant in my original post was that there are people that will say they are actors or artists, but in fact, they don't do anything at all -- ie., they have never had a role in anything or have never sold a piece of art. Someone who is in a play or regular commercials, etc., or who has gallery shows or sells or has sold works of art is in an entirely different category.

This wasn't intended to be a serious thread anyway. 😀

hm, I am a "Vice President" but I made more as a student journalist. 😉

"Oh, he writes Children's Books for a living" 🙂

Oh, yeah... "Full time Mom/Dad" usually means that they're unemployed, too. Sorry, but unless you're a mother/father of three or more kids and/or have a special needs child, you're just being a slacker.

Not cool. :| :disgust:

Truth hurts?
Lets calm down and look what it really means. Did I say it wasn't a job? No, I didn't. Is it considered employment? No it isn't. Therefore it is a job title which implies unemployment. Doesn't mean it isn't hard work.

apparently you didn't read the OP:

those people who say they are "X", but are really unemployed and scraping by on selling their bodies or with help from their parents.

So why don't you think housewife doesn't count.

As it appears to be your creed, here is a bit of unfiltered, unveiled, absolute truth: you're highly unoriginal, and for the large part provided stereotypical responses.

And that's not subjective at all.

When your search leads you to find more than a handful of neurons to rub together, by all means feel free to come back and share.
