I'm working in possibly the only growth industry the country has right now - representing banks in foreclosures. Besides doubling in staff size over the last 2 years, we've also tripled our client base. Yay economy!

No, I'm not an attorney; I just work for them.

1. we're in need of some people
2. im better than everyone in my group
3. im better than everyone in my group

That what my brother in law said until this morning. Found out his company is getting bought, and they are doing away with beer, so 10 people will be laid off. That's the fourth lay off I've heard about with close friends or family in 4 days.

Wait...what does/did your brother in law do?

He works for a distribution company. He delivered kegs & cases for a long while, but got promoted recently (3 months ago) to a position where he basically cleans keg / tap lines.

I work for a wine and spirits company, i'm not too concerned about job security. People are happy? they drink to celebrate! People are sad? They drown their sorrows in booze!

I have the ultimate job security.

I don't go in, so I can't get in trouble. I also can't be fired. I still get paid, just not a lot.

I am less likely to get laid off before others because I am more visible to higher-ups and put in long hours.

However, if the industry as a whole crashes, then no company = no job.
