As for me I work two part time union jobs. Though they are shit work they will last me throughout school and are completely secure as well as flexible. No spitting unfortunately.

For this analogy, loki is bread and his boss' boss is also bread. The guy in the middle will be meat.

Basically breads are the same kind and they know everybody likes the meat part most so the breads will gang up and destroy the sandwich meat in the middle. Is this clear enough for you?

works for wachovia securities, so i still have a job at least until wells fargo finishes the merger... 3 years give or take.

That what my brother in law said until this morning. Found out his company is getting bought, and they are doing away with beer, so 10 people will be laid off. That's the fourth lay off I've heard about with close friends or family in 4 days.

My job security is pretty solid, considering 66% of my income comes from Uncle Sam and is tax free. Unless they start cutting benefits, I'm alright. I also work a part time as a student worker in IT.

He works for a distribution company. He delivered kegs & cases for a long while, but got promoted recently (3 months ago) to a position where he basically cleans keg / tap lines.
 
fairly secure I think. In a way I wouldn't mind getting laid off, it would give me an excuse to go back to school.

yeah, until Obama shuts down all the coal and nuclear plants HAHAA!!.....

BrownTown on the other hand has decent job security, but in a different way since he BUILDS base load power plants instead of working in them so I think I got job security, but have to move every few years to a new job site building this next generation of nuke plants (if that ever happens).

obama can suck my junk. they aren't going to shutdown baseload 1800 MW.
 
I work for the DOT.

With congress close to raising the gas tax and with the infrastructure stimulus, I'm going to see if I can beat last years 740 hours of overtime. I'd say the safest is the DOD but the 2nd safest is the DOT.
 
I work for an engineering consulting firm and while we have a huge backlog of work, we are getting quite a few postponements and a lot of work is getting trimmed down to the bare necessities. My company believes that 2009 won't be as good as the last few years, but it should still be a pretty good year.

I feel pretty secure.
