Job or Summer School?

I'm trying to decide if I should get a job this summer or do a lot of summer school. If I do get a job, I'll probably take an easy online class once a summer semester still.

Job: I've never had a real job or at least anything I can put on a resume. I'm pretty thrifty, so I'm too worried about the actual wage. I just want something that shows experience and will make future employers more interested in me. I plan on trying to get an internship the summer after next dealing with computer science (my major). I'm only a freshman in college.

I already know of a company that people are usually hired on the spot. You make $7 an hour and get a ton of hours. It's doing cargo related stuff at the airport.

I plan on doing some freelance programming projects on my own to show off to future employers since I don't want have any other work experience.

Summer School: Will probably take 7 hours per semester. This will allow me to take the BS courses at an easier and cheaper college and graduate quicker.

So what do you think is best for me? Getting some job experience and some extra cash or taking some easy classes to help me graduate sooner?

Must be DHL, UPS, or Fedex. I hear loading trucks is a popular job among college students.

I posted a thread about UPS/Fedex a couple weeks ago, but this job is actual airliner cargo like suitcases and stuff. The pay is about the same, but you get more and better hours. Also, I know a couple people who will be working there.

I would probably take the job. I would think it might be hard to get an internship with zero work experience.

School 365 days a year kinda sucks. It's nice to break it up with some work.

$7 an hour? I'd say to go to summer school and take some classes, get them out of the way and try to graduate a semester early, or maybe with a minor you wouldn't have been able to have with a normal schedule?

If you need money, see if you can get an evening/weekend job and maybe a part time class load or something.

Also, maybe there's a community college you can get some credits out of the way with? This can save money and possibly make it a little easier at the same time.

Well my parents are paying for just about anything. I don't really need money as much as I need work experience to put on my resume. I think I'm going to take easier classes and then work part time. I think a mix of two is better than one or the other.

Speaking as someone who spent four years and three summers in class, take the summer off and work. You might take an extra year in school or only graduate with one degree, but the work experience and confidence you gain through gainful employment will be worth it.

As a freshman in college, it may be possible to get a more meaningful and/or higher paying job. Couple of friends of mine got jobs doing game testing for EA during the summer of their 1st year.
