Job Interview Question...

As I mentioned in another thread about thank you notes, I have a job interview this Tuesday. One of my former college professors and a former boss of mine are writing letters of reccomendation for me. I am also typing up a list of references.

My question is, unless they ask for it obviously, would it be a good idea to mention at the end of the interview that I have these things with me. This is of course if the interview goes well and it looks like a good fit. If they come right out and ask me for them I am golden of course, but if not, I was thinking of just mentioning that I have them when its all over.

Does this sound like a good idea?

IMO, their decision to hire you or not will be based on your education, experience, and how you present yourself during the interview
regardless of recommendation. Yes, recommendation will have some bearing but not enough to be concerned with.

When I interviewed for my current systems engineering job dealing with company's sensitive documentations, the interviewers (all five of them)
did not request for recommendations at all, they strictly went by my education and prior experience.
 
i would definetly mention it. It makes you look even more prepared, interested, and proactive. Good Luck 🙂

yes, i agree. you can nonchalantly leave them when parting, say something like "'i do have these letters of reference that i'll leave with you so you can review them at your convenience". if there are multiple qualified candidates for the position (which there probably will be) these could cinch the deal for you. good luck.

Thanks for the help. I don't exactly have a lot of experience interviewing but I figured it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. Even over prepared hehe.
