Here's my useful advice.
If you're dealing with an HR person who sucks, give the typical "weakness that makes you look good" answer.
If you're dealing with someone like me, tell me the truth (of course if you were dealing with me I'd never ask the stupid question).
If you really want to leave your mark*, launch into a rant about how stupid the question is, because it requires you to either lie (which some interviewers expect) or make yourself look bad (which some interviewers expect), and everyone just asks people on the Internet for a good answer to the question, and it is absolutely not beneficial for determining if a person is a good candidate for the job.
* leaving your mark does not increase your chances of getting the job.
