Alright fellas, here you go. Between exdeath and I, we've been awake for a collective 90+ hours straight so it's time to crash.

Unfortunately there were multiple people assisting with the diassembly project almost a year ago, and I've also moved since then - so between figuring out what went where, finding things, not finding things, buying things, borrowing things, then finding things we already borrowed after we were done, it took us far longer than it would have otherwise. However, we're getting there.

Fair enough fair enough. A little organization of everything for sure makes reassembly go a LOT faster. But you are close... sooo close.

Some said it was too much work for one weekend.

Some said don't get your hopes up - you'll just get frustrated.

Some said you'll be lucky to just get the engine in.

Well, sir(s)/madam(s), F U.

After the tune is fixed (went from 800cc injectors to 1200cc injectors with different cams), we should be in great shape.

Not only was it the first START, it was the first time we tried to start it. In one weekend, we completed engine assembly, located parts all over town (ProTip #271: Do not move in the middle of an engine build), wire tucked, fabricated custom parts, redid the engine bay entirely, removed a lot of now-unnecessary stuff, etc.

Side note, the entire project this weekend was completed without me purchasing any tools. I guess that means I'm fairly well-stocked now. :)

Oh, and that was with 10 month old E85.. >.>

We drained it and put fresh stuff in. Gonna go roll around in it and check clutch/trans/etc.

Everything seems to be going quite well. I REALLY like the clutch (Clutchmasters FX500) and the gear oil (Amsoil 75w90). I did one first gear run to 14psi for about a second - wastegate works properly an the car pulls nicely. I'll give it another 40-50 miles, then change the oil and water (running straight distilled water for a couple of changes to work out some nastiness kicking around inside the cooling system).

Ok I'm home now.

Don't expect to hear from me until at least Tuesday evening.

zzZZzz

I noticed TVIS being disabled did absolutely jack for performance (did not reduce low end). GT30R not giving a fuck.

Also you said you were driving to work, don't forget no air filter.

And gotta do something with evap: the tank vent line (black vertical one next to a long skinny black cylinder) is just open and its right next to the wastegate dump.

Also that IC fan extension/adapter cable I found but we didn't hook up has BOTH wires missing insulation in the same spot, don't use it until fixed.

Order OEM connectors and lets do the baddest ass custom tucked modular quick disconnect EFI harness the world has ever seen.

I never doubted the powers of a combined beast mode with you and exdeath. Hence why I left you to it. I would have just slowed you down.

Do you know of a source for some multi-wire quick disconnect plugs for wiring harness? Multi as in 12-20 pins per plug.

Probably Grainger or any industrial aerospace supplier. I see them all the time at work. 20 pins? You can get 100+ pins!

MIL-DTL-38999 circular connector for bulkhead or patch cable connectors like used for missile spines/umbilicals, patch panels on ships, weapons systems, radar panels, etc.

Water, vibration, apocalypse, everything proof. Perfect for engine bay environment.

I'm more concerned with finding new OEM EFI harness connectors though.

Stuff like that in varying pin densities.

TVIS, stock O2s, EVAP BVSV you never had, lots more can all go away.

No longer relevant if it was a 91 or 93 harness, it's going to be a Chris harness now.

I'll work on trimming up the rest of the EFI harness Wed/Thur/Fri while you're at work. Ill see if I have any braided nylon loom and heat shrink tubing.

Goal of driving it last weekend achieved. Now that temporary rats nest needs to go.

@ exdeath

Here you go:

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/755-piece-weather-pack-kit-p-380.html

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/ms3pro-uncrimped-ampseal-connectors-p-543.html

I <3 AMPSEAL and WeatherPack. Use those exclusively on ye olde FSAE cars (i.e. cars with wiring harnesses exposed directly to rain, sand, dirt, crap, etc.)

I like WeatherPack because of how easily serviceable they are. AMPSEAL connectors are pretty good for getting a lot of wires connected in a small space while still being weather tight.

Edit: DIYAutoTune also has the weatherpack bulkhead connector

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/weather-pack-22-position-bulkhead-connector-kit-p-364.html

I would much rather support these guys than Amazon. They're an awesome small company that provides a unique service and great support.

Any source for OEM connectors for engine side connections to use stock sensors? Maybe Bosch or Denso or something.
