Jimmy Smits might run for Prez in West Wing.

damn...spoiler warning?

from last weeks episode I sorta felt that, they also made the Republican candidate interesting too.

Not really a spoiler warning because Smits does not agree, its just implied and it was obvious from the very beginning of the ep. We all know who Josh is in love with.

As for TWW, I would watch w. a Smits candidacy and I originally believed they should end the show when Martin Sheen's run is done. If Josh leaves to go work for Smits, they would have to make him integral to a new presidency and bring in great new people. But honestly, I don't think it will happen. They could just cut their loses when Bartlet is done.

It's not really a spoiler, it's been assumed that he was brought on the show to run for president. I just started watching the show this season... I watched the first 3 seasons on DVD, and this season just doesn't come close. It's not the characters, it's the writing that makes it bad. The only way to save the show is to bring Aaron Sorkin back. Letting Bartlet run for a third term would be nice too. 🙂

This season is pretty watchable. Definitely better than last season... But I agree. Bring Sorkin back!!!!!111ONEONEONE

this season is definitely better than last season, but still not as good as Sorkin at his worst.

I would watch the show without Martin Sheen... I don't know if I would watch it without CJ, though.

Heh... I'd want John Goodman's character to return as a Republican challenger, and whip is butt! Hell, the rest of America is going Conservative, shouldn't The West Wing go the same way?

Since when does Liberal Hollywood base things on reality?😛

Bah, that show blew chunks when it first aired. It's so played out now it isn't even remotely amusing.

ONLY won best drama 4 times in a row. "blows chunks." Yeah ..

there's going to be a hispanic president?

LOL, NEVER happen, either on TV or in reality.

Uh... ok. Isn't there a black president on 24? That won't happen for a good long time in reality (unless the president and several other people all die at the same time).

Actually that's the rumor. They're looking to save the show and feel that the series is too left wing to be popular. They're hoping that they can perk the ratings up by showing a more even-handed viewpoint and earn a few more years on the air. If so, it'll almost certainly be with a Republican president to open up new story lines. Too bad they didn't get Goodman back though, Walken was a heck of a good character and could have been the focal point of an interesting series. Alda's character seems too moderate and is too close to the Bartlett wimpiness.

Or unless Colin Powell decided to run.
