Don't you think it would have been more appropriate to take the Fox News show off the air where host said mentally ill homeless people should just all be killed?

I support all voices being heard. How else do you know what they are thinking? ;)

While I didnt always like the things they said they are otherwise harmless entertainment. I suspect both will carry on via Youtube and be successful but they need new channels as the current ones are company probably owned and trademarked.

Apparently Nexstar wants a merger and in order to approve it, the FCC pushed them to not carry Kimmel's show. That is country we live in now.

As always though, aquiring money and power dictate all decision making, even at the expense of the first amendment and democracy.

Was any of the comments of Kirk? All the quotes I saw was his take of the reaction from the right of his death.

Of course it was politically motivated. They just needed the slightest hint of a reason, and with Kimmel's benign words they had it. Look at the GIF the FCC Chair Brendan Carr sent to a reporter asking for any comments on the situation. Free speech means absolutely nothing to these people.

What a country we've become, and this is only 9 months of 4 years in. I predict by the end of his term there will be no televised media outlets left that say anything negative about Trump. And it's not if I agree or disagree with what Kimmel said, but free speech should afford him the right to speak without getting shitcanned. What he said wasn't bad enough to warrant his show being taken off the air.

It sucks that Trump's yet again getting one of his wishes granted.

Sinclair Broadcasting which is a puppet of the administration is basically extorting Kimmel for using his free speech rights now. Not only that, they are airing a Charlie Kirk remembrance show in Kimmel's time slot on Friday. Is the end goal to be like North Korea or Russia here?

Another reason I don't subscribe to Disney streaming service. They've long been in the GOP camp, I think. I don't want to watch their supposedly entertaining drivel.

If anything good ever comes from this shit, I hope we end up with an admin that will use all of the same tricks but for actual good.

Libs are so concerned with going back to "Normal" that they are never willing to do what is needed to actually get there.

Maybe one day we'll have an FCC chair that pulls Fox News et al license for the good of the country.
