Greer said some GOP leaders were meeting to discuss ways they could suppress black votes while others were constantly scheming against each other.

Copies of the 630-page deposition and other documents were released by statewide prosecutors Wednesday.

Greer's testimony offers a window into the level of animosity that exists between Greer and the party he once ran.

• Greer said "the party was in turmoil" as officials wanted to get rid of him and former Gov. Charlie Crist because they disagreed with some of Crist's decisions, including the appointment of a liberal African-American judge to the Florida Supreme Court, Crist's endorsement of John McCain for president in 2008 and the hug Crist gave President Barack Obama in 2009. "My phone lit up with people wanting me to censure the governor,'' Greer said. "The tea party came into existence. There was a feeling within the party that the tea party was just a bunch of whack-a-dos."

• After the party's budget and audit committee started asking questions about House and Senate spending, including legislators who used party credit cards for personal expenses, Greer said he wanted to open the books and credit card records, but party officials and legislative leaders vetoed the idea.

• Greer said he warned others at the party that the budget committee was made up of "whack-a-do, right-wing crazies'' who were trying to take over because of continuing disagreements with Crist and legislative leaders. House and Senate leaders insisted that no one at the party could control their campaign finances. "We eat what we kill,'' Greer said the leaders told him. "Legislative leaders were using their party credit cards like drunken sailors and they made it clear to me I was not to interfere with their spending,'' Greer said.

Thrasher, who succeeded Greer as party chairman, called Greer's suggestion of voter suppression and other accusations "absurd, absolutely absurd'' and said Greer is making "baseless accusations on other people in an effort to divert attention from himself.''

Greer's animosity was evident on almost every page of the deposition as he described the inner workings of a party that has controlled Florida since 1998.

On voter suppression, Greer said he had just completed a December 2009 meeting with party general counsel Jason Gonzalez, political consultant Jim Rimes and Eric Eikenberg, Crist's chief of staff, when questions arose about fundraising.

"I was upset because the political consultants and staff were talking about voter suppression and keeping blacks from voting. It had been one of those days,'' he said.

I find it odd that the guy would even go there.

Having spent a lot of time around Florida repubs myself, I don't have a hard time believing Greer at all.

Funny how they're so concerned with spending, but that doesn't seem to apply to personal purchases with party money. I'm sure it's no way similar to one of those dreaded leftist spending money they didn't earn. That would be down right socialistic of them now wouldn't it?

I guess some of you people still won't believe unless there is a dead body or raped child with the fingerprints of the Republican party

What, the voter suppression laws aren't symbolic of a dead baby? They are for me.

I chuckle at that one ATPN poster, i think bladevenom, who wanted me to 'prove' that the GOP was trying to take away the right to vote from African Americans, as if it's it's not fucking obvious as hell.

Huh, strange, not a peep from the right. Guess they want to cover their eyes/ears and pretend the GOP isn't suppressing the minority vote.

A political war using political tactics to win? Guess it is election year.

Too bad both sides do this, though no one ever hears of it. This is soley the reason why I identify myself as a Moderate, because both parties are sickening that they care more about the war on votes than the fixing and/or improving of our country.

If a party can obtain an advantage of the other legally; do you think they will take the high road?.

Gerrymandering districts accomplishes the same thing.

I posted that here:

Link

As usual monovillage and the other right-wingers went on "selective ignore" and "'forgot" to read it.

But yeah, between that and PA having to admit they have no evidence of voter fraud, it really makes the GOP look bad....although to them, they probably think it makes them look good. :(

Huge efforts in many states have been made to create an independent system to divide states into congressional districts. Such an effort was approved in California, a democratically controlled state. There has been much screaming about the results. Probably independent looks partisan to partisans.

There are two notions I find disgusting, one is the deflection of this kind of corruption by accusing the other party of the same thing, and the other is the notion that anything that can be construed as legal is OK. Finding a legal way to thwart the democratic process is evil, in my opinion. What kind of immoral cretin do you have to be to think it's OK to try to keep anybody from voting.

The fact that Republicans under the bogus moral claim that they are after voter fraud, just happen by some strange coincidence to come up with voting laws that disenfranchise democrats is despicable and evil and beneath the dignity of anybody who wants to look into the mirror and see a human being. What moral puss sacks such folk are.

Now which minority you talking about . Whites? Blacks and hispanic will vote with the welfare party . Its clear the whites in that party are scarred of the people and party they vote in. Seeing wrong in the world is easy . Correcting it without correcting the underlieing problems is a 1 way street leading to bankruptcy and failure . Its nice to be a bleeding heart liberal . I all for ya . So long as its your blood and not mine. Look at the few states we have that are not suffering from weather or the bad economics of this day . Look to those states for your answers . there is only like 5 of them. In MN they even allowing fraud in the voting booths , convicted felons voting . People from wiscons voting in MN. Pointing at Rep and screaming voter suppression is a red herring always will be . Deadd people voting isn't productive and the dems have lots of dead people or illegals voting . Theres is proof but evil covers its eyes to truth always has always will.Dang demons have destroyed America . The harder she falls the louder they scream out against conservatives. I hope this whole thing collapses. and the left is left with what they deserve nothing. They been a burden on hard working people way to long . If your healthy get your asses to work.

Doesn't matter because any type of voter fraud/suppression that they are not responsible for is bad... because only they can do it on a large scale.

Gonna keep asking until as John Boehner put it "the knuckle draggers" acknowledge the obvious
