Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies

Generalize much? I can find people in the US who would call for death for a white dating a black person. Doesn't make it the official stance of our nation.

You can find that in almost any country of the world. people like that are a dime a dozen!

This sounds like a good way to go for Israel. If Jewish women married Arab men, by Jewish custom, their children would be Jewish like the mother, and by Arab custom, they would be Arabs like the father. Then Israel would remain majority Jewish while integrating the Arab population.

In Islam it's determined by the father, IIRC. Makes for an interesting situation.

Anyway, at least in Israel it's a bunch of extremists wackos that claim it, unlike the PA where selling land to a Jew is a capital offence:

A Palestinian court has ruled that anyone selling land to Israelis will automatically face the death penalty.
The ruling came in response to an appeal from Palestinian public prosecutor Ahmed al-Mughani. The current law says courts can choose life in prison or death.

Al-Mughani told the AP on Monday that the law isn't tough enough. In practice, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has not approved executions since coming to power in 2004.

In the past there have been vigilante killings of Palestinians suspected of selling land.

Land sales are deeply sensitive among Palestinians. Many Palestinians sold land to Jews in the beginning of Zionist immigration in the late 1800s.

Some continue to sell their properties to Jewish settlers.

/thread indeed. But those Bat Yam protesters need to understand that if Jewish women are dating Arab men, they are doing it intentionally and of their own free will. "Not allowing it" equals slavery. Still, there's a big difference between the Jewish leadership of Bat Yam (decrying this rally for, among other things, calling for death for Jews selling land to Arabs) and the Palestinian government officially mandating death for Arabs selling land to Jews. Says a lot about the two cultures.

Bat Yam is a municipality, it just so happened that the protesters gathered there. Their mayor expressed his disapproval of that, but that's a part of the free speech game. I wouldn't exactly say 200 people who protest against Jewish girls dating their enemies is news worthy.

If you havent seen it, Jews only survived throughout history because they didnt assimilate with other religions. This is why these people are rallying.

Anything that makes Israeli Jews look bad is news worthy, 'cause it fits the agenda of those putting out the news.

Sandeagle pointed out the one good side of the story - the majority of the Jews and Israeli Muslims rejecting this sort of nonsense.
 
OP - Big deal.

Islam forbids Muslim Women from marrying non-Muslims. Period...You ignore that yet highlight a few Jews calling for death to Jewish women who marry Arabs. Funny that.

And on the topic of Islam, converting from Islam = punishable by Death. So a Muslim woman cannot date/marry a Non-Muslim because she would be killed. And she cant convert because she would be killed also...And the Men have to marry Muslim women [or die if they dont]...Heh yea, I guess the Jews are the "intolerant" ones in the Middle East though.

To debunk the myth that Israel is a nation with fair treatment to all, its time to note that most anti-Palestinians laws have been on the books from 1954 and before.

Basically the right to return question somewhat is rooted in the question of did Palestinian that suddenly found themselves within the borders of the new State of Israel leave voluntarily or of their own free will? And even if its an own free will question, its totally rational for all civilians to leave ground zero when they find themselves right in the middle of two or more fighting armies.

But Israel has taken the position that ANY Palestinian left the 1948 borders forfeited all property and right to return to Israel rights. And now we find out its was a pre-1948 Israeli written policy to drive all Palestinians out at the Zionist point of the gun. Except for the many Palestinians who were murdered instead.

The right of return is a touchy subject, but to be fair a large portion of Israel's Jews are Arab-Jews...Who were kicked out of their Arab home countries because they were Jewish. I really doubt those Jews have any sympathy for Palestinians getting kicked out of Israel in the past.

To some extent two slippery slopes in what peonyu says.

1. While it is true that many surrounding states did disenfranchise their Jews at the same time Israel disenfranchised mainly Palestinians. Its still a matter that some Arab Nationals ended up with somewhat equal rights in Israel, while Arab nations may perhaps owe reparations to disenfranchised Jews. But in terms of disposed Arab nations and disposed Arab Jews, the question is was it tit for tat, or tit for tat for tit, or was it tit for tat for tit for tat to the fifth power. How do we unravel the who done what first between Arab States and the newly minted nation of 1948 Israel in terms of just the Arab National and Jewish national question? But one thing for sure, the Palestinian people bear zero responsibility for Arab States expelling their Jews.

2. What we are left with is the purely Palestinian people, who owned much of the land in
what became the newly minted nation of Israel in 1948, and inside of a few months lost everything through no fault of their own. Even if we assume some Palestinians took up arms against Israel, to condemn ALL without any due process of law amounts to the theft of the last century extending into a new century. But now the new Israel propaganda line is that the Pals are their own worst enemies and if they would only reform, Israel would free their Palestinian slaves and grant them equal rights. When its quite clear that the Palestinians are no more capable than our American slaves in 1860 to free themselves and the Israeli propaganda line is 100.00000 % pure bunk. We all know that it took a great and violent civil war to free our slaves, is it going to take the same degree of world violence to finally get a Palestinian State?
 
Of course we can look at just the thread title, namely " Arabs and Jews" refuse to become enemies and have giant reasons to hope. And in fact, in the 1870 up to 1948 period, we can find countless examples of mixed communities of Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians living in harmony for the mutual benefit of all. And at the same time we can find Jew on Arab violence and Arabs on Jews violence.

So why can't we have fair sharing of the mid-east among Arabs, Jews, and Palestinians today? To some extent, what prevents that is the big step of forming a Palestinians state that would defuse much of the hatreds. But beyond that, the entire mid-east shares a common problem, namely lack of water. And there Israel high tech in building desalinization plants and dams in Arab Territory could do much to develop the entire region. The Egyptian dams on the Nile does much to help Egypt now and there is little to spare, but in Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey there is much that could be done to tap hydrological resources. But in terms of desalination plants, its Iran that has the natural gas and perhaps the soon to be tapped ability to generate the nuclear energy to run those desalinization plants. And we have not even touched the idea of harvesting water from icebergs, something the Arabs have the waterways to do and Israel does not.

A rising tide can lift all boats and continued hostility can only sink all boats.

Call me an optimist if you will, but I ask why not?

what theft by the jews or by israel?


honestly. what theft?


the UK controlled the land after they took over it from the ottoman empire after WWI

the land was then allocated by the UN to the jewish people.


according to the international laws at the time, there was no theft on Israel's part.


if they want to complain, they can complain to the UK and the UN for giving the land to the jews.

the jews did not unilaterally declare a state of independence.

they declared it after the UN allowed them to. before the UN sanction, they didnt.
