Jewelry for Valentines...

I know this is pretty early for most guys to start thinking about gifts for Valentines day, but I wanted to start early so I can find something I really like. Anyway, when I have bought Jewelry in the past, I have always bought it from Tiffany's. I like the Jewelry at Tiffany's and girls generally like getting something from there because they think it is "special", but I can't help but think I can get something a lot nicer from somewhere else. What are some other good jewelry stores...online or not.

Another reason I always shop at Tiffany's is that i figure their stuff is at least quality...even if a bit pricey. For some reason I just don't trust local jewelers...is this stupid? Are local Jewelers actually a lot better (I'm sure price wise they are, but do a lot of them try to rip you off in quality?)

I'm sure you'll find a wide variety in your local dealers... those who are a good value, and those who want to scam you. It's probably best to ask around in your area and get some recommendations.

As for me, I wouldn't buy online. I would want to see with my own eyes what I'm buying.

This is a very good point...

but I'm not worried about the booty...that has always come freely...and I would really like to get something nice for my girlfriend this year...she means a lot to me. The "Can you top this" thing is definitely something that any guy will deal with...but the same rationale would make me never buy her anything for Birthday, Christmas, etc.

OK. Diamond stud earrings. Can't go wrong. A decent pair will run you about $500 give or take. I got my GF a .25 carat pair for Christmas...but that's CHRISTMAS. I don't do "big stuff" on W.S.D. for the reason I posted above. Flowers, dinner and footrub. Year after year....safer that way.

you can see how quickly her wide eyes and smile turns into a, "oh.....how thoughtful....thanks...."
 
Eh, stick with a nice teddy bear, some flowers, and dinner.

I agree with MichaelD. The girl may not think you need to top yourself every year, but then again women are known for saying they want something then deciding once you give it to them that they really wanted something else, because what you got isn't good enough....

Anyhow, I like teddy bears😱
