The Canadian police will not confirm that it is a hate crime. Obviously no one should draw any conclusions about it till the evidence is in.
Arguing semantics about what constitutes a neo-nazi is patently ridiculous. I don't think any of us should wait till ANY group acquires a tank before action is taken to disband them.
Hypothetically, if the perpetrators were dressed in the same style and fashion as a neo-nazi it's enough for me to consider them guilty of a hate crime.
The murder itself is of course abominable and is no more abominable only because the victim was Jewish. What makes hate crimes disturbing is the fact that the victims membership in a certain group is what inspires the crime. The fact that ignorance of such destructive potential exists under our noses is worthy of note.
