Ok so I bought this board: Jetway A350DMS
I have a P4 2.4a Intel 533, 1MB Cache
and a Corsair Value Select 512MB 400mhz
I'm using the onboard video card and I have concluded this is the problem. But I cannot find the solution.
CATALYST Windows XP 4.8 - Motherboard/IGP Drivers
The problem is once I install the ATI Drivers, and reboot, after startup, in less than 5 minutes the computer freezes. A cold freeze. The randomness varies, but I noticed it immediately freezes when the screensaver goes on, and I begin to see little lines across the monitor, flickering.
I installed all 3 of 3 drives, the GART, Display, and South Bridge and I continue to receive the lockdowns.
I even tried the old 4.6 Drivers with the same results.
I updated the motherboard to A04 BIOS, I switched memory sticks, and same results.
I want to try my old nVidia 4200 Ti card, but for some reason I cannot even disable the on-board video. Probably can't find it in BIOS screen.
If anyone has any experience with IGP onboard ATI graphics chips, I'd really like to get your help.
I'm building this for a friend and any help or assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
