The biggest martial arts team-up short of digging up Bruce and Brandon is coming September 2008 - legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li will finally team up on the big screen for "Forbidden Kingdom." Weinsten Co. and Lionsgate films will produce. First "Grindhouse," then this? Weinsteins, you guys are on a roll?
Rob Minkoff, who directed "The Lion King," is set to helm the flick starting May 2nd. Script is by John Fusco and?YUEN WOO-PING will be doing stunts. WTF! This is a martial arts wet dream. For those not in the know, Woo-ping did the action choreography for "The Matrix" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
The flick will be based on the legend of the monkey king, which is the basis for the "Dragonball" Japanese animation series. Jet Li will play two roles, the monkey king and the silent monk.

I thought Jet Li wasn't going to be making any more martial arts films? Or is this his last one?

They should just bring in Chris Tucker and Harrison Ford, and make it Rush Hour 3: Forbidden Kingdom of the Last Crusade of the Mermen.
Then they'd have a movie!
