our first Jack was the sweetest dog. We attended a hangar party every year where we would see this little boy who was just terrified of dogs.
For several years they interacted in a minimal way, but it was always positive.
My friend who hosted the parties passed away and they had a revival party. Rocky had been gone for many years now, but this young man recognized us and mentioned Rocky by name, and how that once a year interaction had helped him. ❤️

That is hideous.
Most of the weird jogs are the result of the land grid (applying a square grid to a round planet breaks down after a few miles) but one boundary is just dumb, cutting across townships.

Also note that the surveyors f’ed up the border with Missouri so the border doesn’t follow the land grid, very untidy.

Note that the sections, roads, and fields are offset at the state line, a real world result of a poor survey and slavish devotion to fictitious lines.
