They're a mix of Cajun and Choctaw and eat snapping turtles and alligators and pretty much anything else they can hunt or catch. I like alligator meat but don't know if I could eat snapping turtle.

Snapper soup is a thing on the eastern shore of MD. I've had a canned version, never fresh. It was alright, but I'm not fond of eating reptiles or amphibians. They have a weird mix of chicken and fish for flavor.

I did something similar when I was around 12. My dad was driving and my uncle was in the passenger seat. The seat I was in didn't have a seatbelt so when they were pulled over I leaned forward with my arms crossed over my stomach so the cops wouldn't know. They asked me why I was siting like that and I said I had a really bad stomach ache and they told my dad he could go to take care of me.
