He cut the hinge out facing the house, so I assume that was on purpose. Maybe they're demolishing it anyway, hah.

Yeah, I want to believe this was just adding to what the excavator will haul away, but knowing the level of stupid that's out there I just can't make up my mind. Trees and bushes near house do look big and neglected, maybe it's a foreclosure or something?
Back when I lived in Baltimore I once witnessed a guy kick off his shoes and climb up a tree with an electric skill saw in hand. His dad was coaching him from the ground, minding the extension cord for him. The horizontal limb he was trying to cut was 10" diameter easy. Somehow no one got hurt or fell out of a tree.

It's like reddit, but not reddit. It's a federated content aggregator. Not nearly as much content as reddit, but I quit them during the api fiasco, and they've managed to further reduce my opinion of them since. My reddit boycott is only slightly less restrictive than my idiotbook boycott, simply because there's one niche sub I keep an eye on for news unavailable anywhere else. Otherwise, I don't patronize them. For the rest, lemmy fills the hole for mindless scrolling and dumb pictures.

Back when computers were half as fast in 1972, you mounted a redundant heatsink in the side of the case because that was the style at the time?

For stupid computer tricks, I once had a bottom end dell laptop that the cpu heatpipe failed(!?) on. I took the keyboard and heatpipe off, and put a random heatsink on the cpu with thermal epoxy. Worked great! Just had to use an external keyboard cause there was a heatsink sticking up from the laptop body :^D
