It's the stuff of legend for British kids, or was when I went to a British school overseas. Special design intended to hurt the 3rd Reich's electricity production. Watched a movie about it one day after school at a friend's house, I remember he had posters of Avro Lancasters and Mosquitos everywhere.

Sounds right. I wasn't suggesting they were used against shipping. Just thought it would be a sight to behold, theoretically, if employed that way. Torpedoes make more sense.
