You want a roof full of bird poop? Because that's how you get one.

Weather + the roof angle + spacing would make sure it doesn't turn into a guano cave I'm sure, though it also might require some kind of maintenance. In areas that have biting insects this kind of thing could affect people getting sick. I know barn swallows and purple martins absolutely destroy mosquitos and biting flies here in the States. I presume similar species in Asia do the same thing. Might be a tradeoff people are willing to entertain, though personally I opt for bird and bat houses on the periphery.

We have a pond that becomes absolutely inundated with dragonflies. I haven't seen a mosquito here since we moved in (upstate NY).

What's not to like about a roof driping with feeces when it's raining! Pray for a drout. Seriously, this is a seriously stupid idea, seriously.

There is that, and then I actually wonder how well it works? Does it shed rain? are those little pointy, hollow designs good against impact damage--hail, stones, various falling things that hit roofs...shedding rain.

fricking acting like a kite in wind gusts, pulling up it's surrounding tile neighbors?

I like the idea, but it seems like it has to cause all sorts of issues.

I like having bat houses and some structure to entice swallows and such to hang out....but as pieces of your roof? There's got to be a better way, haha.

If only there was a simple, low tech way to direct water off a roof, like a tube, or some kind of gutter.

Apparently the holes are too big, which allows for easy protein withdrawal by predators. I think their hearts are in the right place, just maybe not the best application.

There is a better way zin, you gotta mount that bat house over your compost pile so it's fortified with free organic bat ferts. The veg approves.
