I watched this over and over. I think what happened was that the cyclist hit the tandem wheels initially (probably something left over from another accident), then later someone else hit the tandem wheels sending them back down the road to hit the cyclist again. Talk about bad luck. Looks like he got pretty wiped out the second time-he couldn't stand up.

Talk about a bad luck day.

When you pan-fry fresh eel it will flop around in the pan. (I used to go fishing for eel with my grandfather)

Their nervous systems are kind of amazing. Yeah I've seen headless skinned eels try to wiggle off a hot grill before. Disturbing.

Wolf eels aren't actually eels though, some weird genus where it's just them I think. They're the scary looking capybara of cold West coast waters I guess. That mating for life part always impressed me, but apparently they have amicable dispositions towards humans as well. Can hang out with them, pet them - not that I would though. Saw a clip awhile back of one eating a huge urchin, like I eat apples. It'd be my luck I get the one out of 10k that's a real prick, end up losing fingers.

Supposedly they can be kept in an aquarium under proper conditions... not sure how excited I'd be to have that thing in my living room though even if it was "friendly"!

Don't they get to be like 8ft long? So wouldn't just be low temps and proper salinity you'd have to ensure, you're talking about a big ass tank too.

Still, would cut down on all the talk from cichlid owners. I'll see your wannabe piranha, I raise you about 40lbs and I'm throwing in crushed bones and venom haHA
