I love stories like that one. Lever action Winchesters were made like tanks, and the 73s were the first models to use metal cartridges IIRC. That was some find. I wonder if it was restored and lubed to hell if it would shoot.

Some years after that the same thing happened to a student in Norway (maybe Sweden, I forget). Guy on hike sits down on a rock to take a breather, looks over to rocks next to him and sees something sticking out. Pulls out a Viking sword; they dated it to 750 A.C.E.
