Mostly it was the effort to do all of that. My wife and I were always much more mentally tired after a drive in England than we are driving around here.

That isn't exactly true. No hand-axe ever made floor planks that true and flat - those appear to be purchased. So I'd argue that he has some technology-assistance in the building of the log cabin. It's still a really cool accomplishment, but you don't want to throw around the idea that it was all hand tool made.
