No, it is because we have dirty minds. Don't treat our lustful thoughts as something bad. It's not a hate crime to think naughty things of [almost] everything. :D

Honestly, I do want one, it would replace my current MBPr.

Why? USB-C is fucking awesome, that's why. Granted, they should have kept the SD card reader, I mean seriously, that's just rude.

But you won't always need dongles for USB-C. It's just still too relatively new. But remember that those USB-C ports are also just ports, that expose electrical pathways for both USB controllers and direct access to PCI lanes via Thunderbolt 3.

You'll soon be able to find direct USB-C to DisplayPort, HDMI, etc cables for displays, no adapters needed. Many decides will begin shipping with USB-C to USB-C, or at least provide cables for USB-A or -B to USB-C. You can charge on any port so if one side is more preferable due to positioning, no biggie, you're no longer tied to one specific charging port.

We're in the middle of a transition, and Apple has always pushed transitions. This is actually great for everyone, because PCs are also shipping with USB-C ports, so everyone benefits as USB-C becomes the standard and eventually we'll end up seeing the reverse, USB-C to USB-A adapters for backwards compatibility. And let's not forget that beyond the port type, they are all Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1. That's huge, and finally we have a single port that can do everything. Haven't we all actually been wanting that? Dongles are just the unfortunate requirement when something is still relatively new and not commonly adapted.

And frankly the touch bar is pretty sweet. A fully adjustable keyboard (Apple bought such a product/company recently) is obviously the next evolution but a fully adjustable function key bar is a step in the right direction. Of course, some are going to have little to no use for it, while others will drool over the capability and functionality. I have no idea where I'd stand on that until I actually have one. Sometime in the next year I'll probably look to sell my current MBPr and grab one of these. Maybe wait for the first refresh of the new design with Kaby Lake and whatever the next mobile GPU offering is.

Seriously, some newer devices still use USB mini-B plugs from the 2.x era (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S7). The USB 3.x wider mini-B never really took off aside from external HDDs, and I've only seen the 3.x big-B on hubs.
