There is a point in the series where he loses his mojo and gets super whiney about keeping his son and daughter safe, repeating himself with even more whine and emphasis. It's pretty clear that his son is uncomfortable and embarrassed listening to his father whine about safety and survival.

By substituting text, a meme was started where Carl's discomfort/embarrassment was because of bad/corny "dad jokes" forced on him by a whiney Rick. The repeating is Rick trying to get Carl to react as if he simply didn't get the joke.

Edit: Oh! "A Dell" had nothing to do with the show. It's just the punchline to another corny dad-joke about "Adelle" (the singer).

Actually, the scene in the Walking Dead portrayed in the meme is when Rick has just learned that his wife has died. Carl had to kill her in order to save an unborn child (i.e. Carl's sister, aka lil' Asskicker).

Yeah. That's how he lost his mojo making him whine and whine about keeping them safe as the only thing that matters. Carl was strong enough to do what had to be done (kill his mom) but this horrified his father. He took it to mean that Carl was becoming cold, unfeeling, and numb so he needed to be sheltered/protected even more to keep his humanity.
