My female Anatolian does that to me if we're apart for more than a day or so. No kicking to the head, but she goes into crazy puppy mode and circles around trying to get into my lap. Worked better when she was only 20-30lbs!

Our Lab/Australian Shepherd mix basically does that kind of crazy OMG greeting if anyone is gone for more than a few hours. :awe: Good thing she weighs about 40lbs.
