The good thing was that it was still warm and the rollers were still compressing it -- it was already really compressed by that point. Never heard back about it or noticed any defects (no one even told me actually, I just realized it years later), but it probably would have been better if I didn't.

I thought asphalt is almost immediately ready-to-go after the steam roller is done. I guess maybe you'd have to worry about melting your tires.
