Yeah a lot of areas also have the standard cellar spider (what's in the picture). Most people actually have the capability of seeing both in the same area - but sometimes you aren't always in the right timing to see harvestmen. They aren't nearly as likely to go wandering into dwellings, though they can.
Case in point, I've only ever seen harvestmen outdoors while camping, and when I was a security guard with a shack, I got a lot of outdoorsy visitors like various spiders and arachnids. Also had squirrels often, and a groundhog once; the squirrels I fed some out of my hand routinely

, the groundhog started walking inside, and then we saw each other and each jumped back, I wasn't expecting one of them... I saw movement and was prepared to yell at one of the squirrel buddies and suddenly it's a mammal the size of five squirrels, and behavior/status unknown (unlike the squirrels). That was a little freaky until it started behaving like normal, i.e. when it immediately turned tale and scooted away, checking back once and saw I was following so it double-timed it from there.
