I actually had to use dial up a couple years ago so that I can download drivers on to a small HP laptop with no USB or LAN connection. The only connectivity it had was a dial-up modem external card. I used that over Comcast voice. HAHAHA
What interface were you using to monitor SNMP?The laptop had no serial port. This was a very old small form factor HP laptop. I can't remember the name of it now. I used it to monitor the router via SNMP.
I would do it by keyboard. I like that kind of challenge (keyboard fiend here).Come to think of it, it did have a serial mouse port, but using the built in mouse to navigate was a pain.
