
one of the meanest things a DI/sergent ever did to us was when we were drilling "three man tall" (it's a firing position for firing around corners, one guy laying on the ground, one guy kneeling above him and a third leaning in over the two, only the rifle and one eye's worth of face would be exposed) and we decided to see how many guys we could squeeze in there, we made it to over 10 people ( 3 rows of at least 4 guys). we were like "LOL SARGE LOOK AT US" he turned around with that angry "what are you retards doing now?" face, but then his eyes lit up (it's a very bad omen when a DI's eyes light up) and he said "this is a direct order, put your rifle on auto and empty the mag". This wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't because the corner was to our right meaning the brass would be ejected right into our faces and as any soldier or marine will tell you, hot brass always magically finds it way down your shirt. I got so many brass burns that day.
