Reminds me of a co-worker. We were talking finances and I said she should probably be putting more money into our employer's retirement plan (which is extremely good in terms of diversification, employer matching, and low expense ratios). She said she couldn't afford to put in more.

Then she bought a luxury car that costs more than her annual salary and traded in her other car that was only 5 years old. Oh well.
