Actually, it's closer to 5800-6000K. 😉
Depending, of course, on how and where you are measuring, and by what definition. Hell, what day it is also matters.

The actual color can also be expressed as: #fff1eb - this, I have learned today, is largely dependent upon your original starting points for computations/comparisons. The values will all largely be quite close in perceived color, but the specific pixel value will change to a small degree.

You can also state, the average for stars that very similar to ours: #fff5f2 (G2V type star)

Essentially, a "warm white" - could be true white, if not for our muddied computation and natural perception limitations.

hm, who wins?

Hmmm, tough one. My vote would go with Ellen Ripley, though Xena or Indiana would have a good chance. 🙂 The colorful costumes would get picked off quickly, and without being able to go back to the cave, Batman would end up FUBARed. S. J. would probably get a gratuitous sex scene, with no goodies actually visible.

Rambo would be tough. He's got the outdoorsy thing down, and he's good with improv stuff. Going by the first movie of course.

In purely scientific terms, we would experience it from space as, pretty fucking white! ...right before it burned out retinas out. It would appear to be about 40% more luminous out from under our atmospheric blanket, which is already bright enough to damage our eyes fairly quickly.

Most people seem to have the faulty idea that it is yellow.
