i always noticed this. its like some college textbooks. some bullshit that just won't go away

This has been true for years, but only gets worse as time goes on.

We had 600Mhz Pdas for $200 in 2005 with 3d graphing programs...

Although the ti-89s do have some advanced functionality built in that you won't get outside of probably Matlab or Mathematica...but no math class uses them.

My EE prof ended up letting us use laptops as calculators.
For times when I absolutely needed a graphing calculator for the exam, I was able to lend one from the school. All other times, I used maple or I used a Ti-89 emulator.

no. point is, the hardware inside that thing cost pennies. seriously like watches and $10 cell phones have more computing power and are more advanced in every possible way
