My main issue here is that Firefox crashes sometime after it goes flying past about 2.5GB of RAM as it attempts to load a massive quantity of GIFs. What are they, 20 or 25 images per post? And I'm set at 100 posts per page.
(And the page loading maxes out my cable Internet connection for awhile, which is somewhere around 800kB/sec - that's bytes, not bits.)

I shouldn't have to disable embedded images while viewing a funny image thread. :colbert:
 
Wow people are complaining about images in an image thread. IMO he should post more and larger ones. FYI this is the dump thread for images, in case you thought you were somewhere else, or have a weak computer/browser/connection.

Even though I complained about how long it took to load, I don't mind, I browse reddit and wait the literal 97 seconds (timer).

I have 30mb internet and still get stupid load times cause of the stuff being dumped. 😛
Yeah where I am I could get 100mb internet, wouldn't have actually been that much more, but what would be the point?

Change your connection settings.

Having 50 connections will make the browser try to load 50 images at a time. Doing this takes forever, so the page is extremely slow.
Having 2 connections means it loads 2 things at a time. It will load full images sequentially as you are scrolling down. It gives the apperance of shorter load times.

I am running 20Mbps or better. Quad core at 3.7GHZ. 4GB (windows 7 32bit due to some hardware).

many want to check this out on a phone.

orooo is exploiting the system and now others are parlaying it.

Hell, half of the gifs you posted aren't intended to be funny. This is a funny pics thread, not a dumping ground for every random pic you find.

Agreed. Half of the posts are of Alison Brie, who is hot, but this is a funny thread not babe thread.
