Could be stop motion or a very coordinated foot-twitching maneuver. I'm leaning toward the former.

I did that before by accident, but it sure as hell didn't look as cool. I missed my step and thought I was going to fall down the steps, but instead I just kind of glided down on the edge of the steps. The steps were wet though and when I got to the bottom I just said to myself, "WTF just happened?"

In Ashley Young's defense, he did clip him though it's not visible from that angle. It's still a weak penalty that shouldn't have been given.

I have done this kind of stuff on foot, on a skateboard, on rollerblades and on my bike.

The thing about stairs is they are all equal, once you set up your angle it's smooth sailing.

The only things that work against you are too steep of stairs. It's hard to scrub off speed just hitting the edges.
