Actually its a i love you because its short for lovely human in reference to a bundle of sticks. Either way, it's clear the image was referring to the dog using the word as a sexual orientation epithet which was being generalized to not denote the sexual orientation but only use an implied meaning such as effeminate/bad/annoyingly stupid/socially undesirable. While it is clear that the use of such linage perpetuates stereotypical negativity against a repressed minority group it is also clear, by direct citation count, the image was the most popular of this thread.
