I hope no one died from that, b/c I lol'd.

I don't know of anything current that isn't fused. Everything has built in protection to keep something like this from happening and then detonating.

Like with 40mm grenades, they have to spin so many times before they arm. You can shoot one into the dirt at your feet and it won't detonate.

Mortars like above, iirc, have to have the shock of being launched, enough air moving through the open tip, and travel a certain path (some sort of arc) before they arm.

I knew the part about the 40mm grenades, but that's an interesting mechanism for the mortars. It sounds similar to older bombs that had passive propellers spun by the *air* and armed after a certain number of revolutions.

Air-to-air missiles also have (had?) a little wheel that spins as air rushes over, counting revolutions before they are armed.

I saw a bunch on the U.S.S Midway museum (where there are aircraft on the deck) and just kinda guessed what it was for.

So you're basically saying these militants in the gif have no idea how their weapons work? :p (cause they all panicked and ran away)

Thanks for the info. I had no idea.

Even with the safeguards posters have described, I'd probably be running with the guys in the .gif. Logic and rationality don't always prevail when something like that happens. ;)

Ok, there is NSFW in the title of this thread, lots of NSFW stuff going on in here, and anybody that's been to the chive knows it's simply NSFW at all. With that said, you'll know the one I'm talking about when you get to it..it's not very far down.

The impact and joke doesn't work very well when taken out of the thread, so I just left it there. Please read what the pictures are before proceeding to find the one I am referencing.*

That is awesomely fap worthy. Can't tell if that is Spanish, Latin or Mexican TV. My assumption is that it isn't Mexican, they are all way too white, even the audience.

right below it says one of them is celia blanco. wiki says she's a former spanish porn star. further, it says the show is cronicas marcianas, which has a .es tld. so, spanish it is.

more importantly, how can i loop that as my desktop background?
