I'd say a chemistry teacher should know better (unless that's just another student, I can't tell)... but I think some chemists are just pyromaniacs at heart. My dad almost killed my brother and I many years ago with gasoline fire/explosion.

"Some"? Why do you think that people go INTO chemistry?

Frankly, I think that apyromania should be classified as a psychiatric disorder in high-IQ teenaged boys.
