When I was a catcher in high school, both of our main pitchers were knuckleballers. I have permanent bruises in my ankle areas from all those missed "falling of the table" pitches. From the catcher's perspective, it is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when you will get one in the lower leg as well as have a pass ball (or two).

On the bright side, to this day I can still pick up the seams on a pitched ball better than most.
