The guys head disappearing after the explosion is kind of a give away too... It's dummies in the footage after the explosion goes off. Either that or your watching a snuff gif and they got decapitated amazingly quickly, but I don't think they'd lose their heads like that with their bodies still there.

I don't think his head came off, especially after watching the above Youtube video. I think the collar of his coat/jacket just came up beyond the base of his skull, so it appears he's headless.

No i think its the johnson rods located in back of the heimendinger.

But seriously i think its just you see the previous persons eyes on the new person, and maybe some other features. you dont need both faces to see the illusion, but its there to make it even stronger. When i first saw it, i thought the faces somehow went together to produce the illusion.
