Seriously it seems like every YT video I see where a (usually solo) hiker is threatened by a mountain-lion or bear they walk RIGHT OVER piles of baseball-sized rocks that the animal absolutely does NOT want to get pummeled by. (even a large bear will think twice if you start throwing rocks)

The LAST thing a predator wants to do is take serious damage from a "meal" that fights back and while firearms ARE far more effective, sticks and stones DO in fact break bones.
