Tom Waits - guess you can describe him as last of the beatniks <IMDB says so.) His music is jazz, blues, vaudeville, he's a singer, composer, actor etc definitely a unique individual and a man of talent. He's done the soundtrack for many movies and TV shows including Fight Club and Shrek 2. You'd probably recognize his music wherever it's playing he has such a unique voice. Just best to listen to some of his music and read the bio.
