The Sun, photographed from the same spot, at the same hour, on different days throughout the year

Because of the Earth rotates around the Sun in an orbit that is oval-shaped and not perfectly circular, and because the earth is "tilted" (creating seasons) a person taking this of kind of picture sees whats called an "analemma" pattern. it would take about a year to make this picture.

This is kinda long but it's amazing to watch. Clip after clip of super low high speed passes. It may look easy but flying that close to the ground at high speed brings up a lot of turbulence and ground effect. Energy management is key to good sailplane flying, you don't have a motor to pull your ass out of trouble. I love to do low high speed passes in my RC gliders (it's all I can afford) but I love watching the big boys ($100K+) they have so much more to lose. Enjoy.
